Texture Me Natural Tips: Saturday, May 24, 2014

Tip 1: #detanglingtip If you have a thick texture or very coily hair, rinse your hair with water then apply your favorite deep conditioner. Cover with a plastic cap for at least 15 minutes. This step will make detangling a little bit easier. Make sure you start at the ends and gently work your way up to your roots. Twist or pin the section before moving on to the next to prevent tangling or snagging other strands of hair.

Tip 2: If you're starting a new regimen or introducing new products into your current regimen, make sure your start with freshly washed hair. You don't want any buildup affecting the performance or outcome of the products.

Tip 3: When trying a new product combination when moisturizing and sealing, journal your process. This will be very helpful especially if the combination doesn't work. You can avoid having the same have fail happen all over again.

Tip 4: Our ends are the oldest and most fragile part of our hair outside of our edges, crown and nape. Conditioning, trimming, and sealing are 3 important steps to take when it comes to reduces tangles and preventing unnecessary breakage. Whether you're getting a full trim or dusting your ends periodically; both will help us preserve length and retain moisture.
